Rossella joined FIND in October as Clinical Officer to support the Pandemic Preparedness programme and the Clinical Trials Unit in the conduct of evaluation studies of in vitro diagnostics for COVID and outbreak-prone pathogens. Rossella focused on outbreak investigation, epidemiology and pathogenicity of multidrug-resistant organisms causing community and healthcare-associated infections, and recently, on the development and clinical evaluation of rapid diagnostics based on next-generation sequencing for respiratory infections, including tuberculosis, and COVID serology survey in special populations.


Rossella graduated in Pharmaceutical Biotechnology Padova, ITand holds a board certification in Clinical Microbiology and Virology Padova, ITand a PhD in Medical Biotechnology Siena, IT.

Prior to joining FIND, Sylvain worked as an Assistant in the Department of Pathology and Immunology at the University of Geneva, where he obtained a PhD in biology.

She has over 8 years of experience in public health and development. Prior to that, Marie spent time working with the KNCV TB Foundation in the Netherlands, and with the Clinton Health Access Initiative in Eswatini where she provided technical and strategic support to government ministries focusing on tuberculosis, diagnostics, and malaria.
